Species and Methods
- Carp.
The carp are very plentiful, but the power station has them in a spin! They can be found spawningin December! Worms and maggots work well. Otherise a simple leger approcah with corn will work. Float fishing 'up in the water' is also possible, simply feed enough freebies to keep the fish interested.
- Bass. Spin with small pieces of worm attached to mepps style spinners or small spoons for plenty of fish. Surface poppers work all year round. Really big bags are possible. They avarage 800 grams to 1 kilo.
- Pumpkinseed. Maggots or worm pieces on a light float rig in the margins will catch lots of pumpkinseed.

Embalse de Cijara
Embalse de Cijara is a difficult water. Free fishing is available for carp, barbel, pike and bass. A boat is required to have a possibility of catching some of the larger pike.
Species and Methods
- Carp. Lots of feed can be required to get onto the carp. Bring lots of boilies and if possible feed over a number of days to get the fish onto your particualt flavour. Fish these on a stringer or use a PVA bag with broken boiles/pellets.
- Bass. Fish to 2 kilos can be caught on small rapalas or spoons. Rubber worms and similar patterns also score.
- Barbel. These will show up when fishing for carp. They seem to have a prefernce for pellets over boilies, so it is possible to try and target them specifically, however, impossible to avoid the carp totally!
- Pike. Huge pike to 18 kilos have been recorded. Noadays, crankbaits, large plastic lures and other American style artificals produce most fish. Don't ignore old fashioned spoons though, with red colours quite effective.

Embalse de Sierra Brava
Really good free fishing for pike. The fishery is very clear, with depths to 3 metres.
Species and Methods
- Pike. The pike are not huge here, probably due to the fact that alot of fish are killed. However, good bags of fish in the 2 kilo bracket can be taken on light spinning tactics. Fish small deadbaits such as sardine on the bottom for some bigger fish to 6 kilos.
